You can't go anywhere right now without seeing or hearing about the eagerly anticipated collaboration between the juggernaut that is H&M and the trailblazer that is Balmain and rightly so!
Ahead of the release of the menswear line on Thursday morning (5th November), I had the chance to try out some of the pieces for you guys.
Oh. Em. Gee.

There's something ridiculously cool about the H&M X Balmain collaboration following on from the Alexander Wang collaboration. The pieces all have that feeling of coming fresh off catwalk while also having the edgy tones of on trend streetwear. I'm not going to tell you too much about how excited I was to so this shoot (very) because I won't stop writing and I know you don't want that. Of course you don't.
My first look revolved around this amazing black and grey wool blend, chenille stripe jumper with the consistency of clouds... Yes it felt like I was wearing kittens strapped around my torso, it was that soft. The jumper is rich in detail with a hand embroidered gold lion patch that just screams attitude! The gold buttons on the shoulder are solid to touch and remind me of the doubloons that pirates must have waged epic wars for!
The jumper feels heavy and substantial. The kind of item you wear with pride. I wore it with a pair of skinny black jeans and a pair of Indian rosewood Nike ice creams. It's the kind of look you can dress up with a blazer and a pair of brogues for a night out or heavy boots for a completely different feeling. We shot this look in The Liquor Rooms right on the quays which has a similar attitude to that of the H&M X Balmain collection; with its gold tones, hidden alcoves and rustic tiles.
The jumper comes in at €79.99 which in my opinion is well worth it when you think about just how much Balmain pieces cost! Look out for my second look which will be live on Tuesday evening... It will be worth the wait!
#HMBalmaination hits H&M College Green at 9 am on Thursday (5th November) so get down early and don't miss out!
